ITALY: PAGO TO BUILD FRUIT JUICE FACTORY
Article Abstract:
The Austrian fruit juice maker Pago, which is part of Osterreichische Braubeteiligungs-AG (BBAG) beverage group, is to spend Sch 200mn on the construction of a fruit juice factory in Pescara, Italy. Start-up of the plant that will initially have a capacity of 400,000 hl is scheduled for spring 2001. In September 1999 Pago inaugurated a factory in Tarragona, Spain. The expansion of this plant is one of the investments planned by BBAG in Austria and western Europe for year 2000, for which the group has earmarked Sch 1bn. Fruit juice is the main product with which BBAG is expanding in western and southern Europe, while the group's east European operations focus on beer.
