Iberia net surges on gain from sale of stake in firm

Iberia Lineas Aereas de Espana S.A. of Spain, after selling an 18 percent stake in Amadeus S.A. has posted net profit of 402 million Euros in the past nine months, effectively nearly tripling profit earnings. The airlines, like most global airlines is faced with the skyrocketing costs of fuel prices. Strategic planning for the airline includes cost cutting and layoffs.
