On September 23rd 1998, the Spanish state shareholder SEPI is expected to sell its 40% stake in Interinvest, a shareholding company which controls 85% of the Argentinean airlines Aerolineas Argentinas. An 80% stake of the quota SEPI will sell could be acquired by different institutions; Iberia from Spain and American Airlines (AA) are said to be interested in a 10% stake each. AA is expected to manage the Argentinean company, which used to operate under Iberia's guidelines. AA could pay Pta 4,000mn for the purchase. Interinvest is also participated by Merryl Linch and Bankers Trust. The Argentinean government owns a 5% stake in Aerolinas Argentinas, and the staff another 10%. *

The bus operator Trapsa will bid in the privatisation of the public-owned long distance bus operator Enatcar. According to the company's managing director, Mr. Luis Suarez, the company is also interested in the contracts to run the urban bus services in the cities of Cuenca (Spain) and Chalons (France), in order to expand its business in both countries. In the tourism coach sector, the company plans to start operating by 1999 in Italy, Germany, and the Prague-Budapest-Vienna. The company could also enter the South American markets.

IBV vende su 4% en ITP a Rolls Royce y Turbo2000

Article Abstract:

A 4% stake in Spanish company ITP (Industria de Turbopropulsores) has been sold by Corporacion IBV to the other shareholders in ITP: Turbo 2000 (holding company for shares owned by Bazan and Sener) and Rolls Royce of the UK. Turbo 2000 increases its holding to 53% after the move and Rolls Royce increases its stake to 47%. Bazan is said to be planning to sell the stake it holds in Turbo 2000.
