Early-tardy cost trade-offs in resource constrained projects with cash flows: an optimization-guided heuristic approach
Article Abstract:
The resource constrained project scheduling problem is resolved to test possible improvements on the net present value of cash flows which may result from the release of an activity for scheduling once its precedents are satisfied. The early release of activities decreases the risks of bottlenecks from resource conflicts. Eight heuristics generating the need for the evaluation of the earliness costs and tardiness penalties for each activity are presented.
