India's embattled madrassas
Article Abstract:
A glimpse into the beleaguered madrassas in India is presented. Madrassas are education centers for muslims. These study centers are meant to train the muslims for social life. The recent global war on terror has classified these study centers as Jihad factories or the dens of holy terror. Lack of modernization of these madrassas is another factor that derails a generation's progressive thinking. They also come under a lot of political flak from political parties.
