Indonesia's crisis spurs companies to promote unity with shampoo
Article Abstract:
A growing trend in the Indonesian advertising industry is the production of commercials that are socially-relevant, those calling on Indonesians to help rebuild the country and economy by maintaining ethnic peace and cooperation. The trend was driven by the ouster of Pres. Suharto and the economic difficulties experienced by the country. Advertisement production companies believe that they have achieved two objectives in producing such commercials, assuring their clients of continued exposure to consumers while marketing them as socially responsible firms.
