Check-in looms for Year 2000
Article Abstract:
International Air Transport Assn (IATA) director general Pierre Jeanniot warned of operational problems in the industry during the rollover into the next millennium. Jeanniot said inadequate preparations by some carriers and governments may lead to capacity limitations in those territories. His opinion marks a shift in IATA's public policy, which has, until now, emphasized the positive steps airlines have taken in achieving Y2K compliance.
