Intel to slash 10% of workforce in restructuring

Intel Corp. of the United States is to cut 10 percent of its workforce or 10,500 jobs in a global restructuring and consolidation. Plans include the sale of underperforming subsidiaries that should eventually generate $3 billion in cost savings per year starting in 2008.
