Internet steers new investors toward individual stocks
Article Abstract:
Online investing in Hong Kong is still more on individual stock investments, according to the territory's mutual fund mangers. The availability of online trading information has increased the confidence of online investors in their capability to choose stocks for themselves. The trend, however, is seen as a short-term phenomenon by mutual fund management companies who are confident that individual investors will turn to mutual funds once they realize the bigger discounts available through mutual fund firms.
