Is Beverly the next healthcare target?
Article Abstract:
Health-care providers are expected to perceive nursing home company Beverly Enterprises of Fort Smith, AR, as an acquisition target following the restructuring of Beverly's operations. Beverly is seeking to increase the value of its shares by separating its expanding pharmaceutical supply division, Pharmacy Corp of America (PCA). Some bankers believe the move will depreciate the company's value. Institutional shareholders are selling stock, with the share value expected to fall to a low of $9 from $16 prior to the spin-off announcement.
