Is the crusade over?
Article Abstract:
An analysis of the influence of the West in Asia is presented, tracing the influence from the time of active colonization of the West of Asian countries to the present day influences of technology and democracy. The doctrine of 'Christians and gold' which permeated the early colonization efforts remain even in the present, albeit in the guise of technology and democracy. The West's greatest influence on Asia is in waking up Asians to the potential of technology and knowledge to open up avenues to greater wealth.
