Israel's culture wars
Article Abstract:
Secular Israelis are concerned about loss of influence and Orthodox Jews have particular forms of cultural support. Orthodoxy may seek to impose its views on others in Israel. The poet, Yitzhak Laor, argues that the political left may feel resentment linked to conflict with Palestinians which could help explain their attitudes toward Orthodox Jews. Novelist, David Grossman, also argues that Orthodox Jews may have taken the role of the collective enemy in place of Palestinians.

You can't follow the science wars without a battle map
Article Abstract:
The so-called 'science wars,' which had been raging for many years, were brought to public attention by an article written by physicist Alan Sokal. The article attempted to ridicule postmodernist philosophers, as did a later book by Sokal and Jean Bricmont.
