Isuzu's shares are poised for rebound despite falling sales of Trooper model
Article Abstract:
Japanese stock analysts expect Isuzu Motors Ltd.'s stock to rise despite poor US sales of its Trooper sport-utility vehicle. Strong engine sales to General Motors Corp., and increased truck sales in the Japanese and overseas markets are attributed for the growth. The stock, which was valued at 610 yen per share in Oct. 1996, is expected to rise by 17% in the next few months. Analysts, however, forecast Isuzu's profits for FY ending Mar. 31, 1997, to be below FY 1996 levels.

Nissan shares need a lift: Daimler talk isn't enough for Japan auto maker
Article Abstract:
Rumors of Nissan Motor and Nissan Diesel Motor talks with Daimler Benz have not dissuaded analysts from changing their recommendations to steer clear of the company's stocks. Analysts maintain that Nissan's sales are hurting and that inventories remain high. Moreover, Nissan's sales in the US have been hurting because of lack of competitiveness against Honda and Toyota products.
