Italy starts again, again
Article Abstract:
The end of the old political order in Italy in the early 1990s has brought about a number of changes in the country, the latest being the election of prime minister-designate Romano Prodi in Apr 1996. The tasks that await the new government are numerous, but progress can be made.

Inching forwards: Italian banking
Article Abstract:
The Italian banking industry is changing as it seeks to integrate itself more into the European Community's single market. One change is that Italian banks will be allowed to own industrial companies. Change will be slow though as long as Italy's biggest banks are state-run.
