The trial of Shoko Asahara, believed to be the mastermind behind the Tokyo nerve-gas attack on a subway station in 1991, is drawing comparisons to the double murder trial of O.J. Simpson in 1995. The only difference between the two cases is that Asahara is not expected to be aquitted, as Simpson was.

Murderers or victims? Battered women
Article Abstract:
California has passed legislation allowing abuse to be admitted as evidence in murder trials where a woman is accused of killing her husband or boyfriend. Advocacy groups such as Convicted Women Against Abuse are pushing for clemency for women already convicted.
