Jesse Jackson's wrong target
Article Abstract:
There are serious questions that should be asked about the impact of zero tolerance policies, but the involvement of Jesse Jackson in a case in Decatur, Illinois, does not help to further the debate. The incident involved the expulsion of six black youths who had disrupted a football match. Zero tolerance has led to a drop in crime rates and helps children to learn in school by providing a secure environment. There are problems with using inflexible rules, and children expelled from school may be moire likely to become criminals.

Can anyone curb Africa's dogs of war?
Article Abstract:
Mercenaries have great power in the weaker African states, where they are increasingly used by both governments and rebels following the withdrawal of western forces from interventions in Africa. Security firms have been set up with the help of western governments seeking to protect commercial interests. Former military men from the South African armed forces often see becoming a mercenary as a better career option than staying in the South African army.
