John Campbell: Campbell Lutyens & Co
Article Abstract:
Campbell Lutyens and Co (CL) has been heavily involved in merger and acquisition work over recent years, according to managing director John Campbell. He remains extremely enthusiastic about this area of activity, but is now also moving the company towards new sectors, including services for development capital investors. The company aims to offer completely independent corporate finance advice, believing that unbiased views are extremely important as international concerns look at their involvement in rapidly developing markets.

LGV in court over McBride
Article Abstract:
George Hoskings is suing Legal and General Ventures (LGV) for 3.8 million pounds sterling, claiming that this is the sum his shares in McBride, which undertook a 260 million pounds sterling buy-in in 1993, would now be worth if an agreement relating to the deal had been honoured by LGV. It is claimed that LGV attempted to put pressure on Hoskings, who was to head the concern after the buy-in, to support over-optimistic figures to justify a winning bid in the auction.
