Jon Moulton interview: speaking frankly...
Article Abstract:
Alchemy Partners Managing Partner Jon Moulton suggests large companies, with around 30 investment experts, cannot communicate as well as smaller firms. As a result some senior executives no longer work on deals. He foresees his company moving into the German market. Moulton admits his company's investment of 3 million pounds sterling in AG Stanley is risky, particularly if the company has to weather a recession in the UK economy. He estimates a 1% fall in the economy would result in a 4-5% decline in business for AG Stanley. Moulton feels some deals in the UK are priced too highly.

Lift-off for Sand Aire
Article Abstract:
Sand Aire Private Equity, a new buyout house based on London, England, will invest from its own capital, rather than from a fixed life fund. The concern, part of Sand Aire Investments, does not intend at present to raise money from external sources. It plans to invest around 3-5 million pounds sterling in individual deals, and will probably aim at transactions worth up to a total of around 30 million pounds sterling. It is possible that it may eventually establish regional offices.
