Just show them what to do
Article Abstract:
The US was to have allowed Mexican trucks to enter and travel freely from Jan 1 2000, but has missed the deadlinde due to claims that Mexican safety standards are too low. This adds to the cost of trade, and means that pollution is caused by loads being transferred. Mexican safety standards have improved, especially following efforts by California to train inspectors from Mexico. US truckers fear that they may be undercut by low Mexican wages, though US trucks are more efficient, and could take work away from Mexicans.
