The battle of Piscataway

The Supreme Court will hear the case of Sharon Taxman during the fall 1997 session. Taxman, who is white, sued the Piscataway, NY, school board after she lost her job to an equally qualified African American. The Clinton administration has vacillated in its support of the Board's position.

Bitter pill: abortion

Article Abstract:

The Supreme Court has upheld the ban on RU-486, the abortion pill, by the Food and Drug Administration. The court ruled the woman could not legally bring it into the country for her own use. Pro-choice groups have fought this regulation.
