"Kahvimyrsky" tuhosi Pauligin tuloksen
Article Abstract:
The increase in the price of raw coffee affected the financial statements of Finland's Paulig in the financial period ending 30 April 1998. Paulig's turnover increased to FIM 1.25bn (USD 0.2bn) from FIM 1.09bn the year before, while the profit decreased from FIM 162mn to FIM 81mn. The profit before extraordinary items and taxes decreased from FIM 198mn to FIM 96mn. Paulig's solvency ratio improved from 47% to 55%. Paulig's subsidiary Vaseco and the partly owned company Estrella performed well in the financial period of 1997-98. Tightened competitive situation and lowered consumption in Great Britain deteriorated the profitability of the subsidiary producing Lyons coffee. The operations in Russia and the Baltic countries are not yet producing profits. Pimenta
