Passengers to pay more for airport capacity growth
Article Abstract:
A bill allowing US airports to raise the Passenger Facility Charge has been approved by the House of Representatives. The Aviation Investment and Reform Act for the 21st century raises the PFC cap to $6 from $3 to help pay for improving equipment and capacity within the aviation system. The bill also takes the Aviation Trust Fund off budget, resulting in an increase in the Airport Improvement Program funds to $5 billion a year from $2 billion.
