A Wall St. Journal/NBC News poll shows support for Massachusetts senator and Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry is running high as he approaches his party's nominating convention. Nevertheless, the results also suggest that Kerry has still to convince voters of his competence in matters of foreign policy and national defense.
