Kroes's blurring of the lines
Article Abstract:
Neelie Kroes, the former Dutch transport minister who has been nominated for the post of business regulator for the European Union, has come under fire for dealings she had as part of a government-subsidized lobby group during and after her term as transport minister. European Union ministers considering her nomination are concerned that Kroes's involvement with the Holland International Distribution Council is an example of the kind of conflict of interest practice they fear she might be tempted to take part in as an EU regulator.
