New terminal makes light of flying
Article Abstract:
Manchester, England Airport's second terminal has been designed and built under fast-track conditions. The interior design incorporates many elements that have proved successful in Terminal 1 like terrazzo flooring and modular wall pannels. However, new approaches are used with lighting, signage, carpeting and colour. Departing and arriving passengers are separated vertically and movement through the terminal is simple. The colour scheme and design of shiops and check-in desks is warm and friendly while natural and artificial lighting gives an impression of space and brightness.
