LAP signs contract for Jorge Chavez

LIMA Airport Partners (LAP) has received a 30-year concession contract to develop, manage and operate Jorge Chavez International Airport, Peru's major gateway. LAP is a consortium that consists of Frankfurt Airport, Bechtel Enterprises International and leading Peruvian engineering and construction company, Cosapi. The consortium was chosen in Nov 2000, after an 18-month international bidding process. Under the deal, LAP will share revenues with the government and will reimburse costs incurred in the privatization process.

Greener fuel at JFK
Article Abstract:
JFK International Airport has a new fuelling station to fuel airside vehicles in May 2000. Nippon Cargo Airlines has opened a Compressed National Gas station. It has also converted its fleet of 22 forklifts and one van to CNG, displacing more than 50,000 gallons of conventional fuel per year. The decision is aimed at reducing air pollution inside the cargo handling facility. Kingdom Group LLC of New York operates the station.
