CONCORDE IN TIE-UP FOR 2nd HAND SALE

Concorde Motors Ltd is conducting a pilot study on India's used car market. A joint venture between the Tatas and Jardine International Motor group of Hong Kong, Concorde plans to trade in Telco's passenger vehicles initially. The company is already trading in used Mercedes Benz cars and is developing an auto retail chain in major cities. The company's fifth showroom in Mumbai was recently opened. Technologies and features being similar amongst most cars, the company feels that service and delivery will hold the edge to competitive marketing. (nr)

Article Abstract:
Reliance Industries Ltd and Indian Petroleum Corporation Ltd increased the basic prices of most of their petrochemical products on October 7, 1998. This is the third time that they are increasing prices in the last three months. The companies have made this revision as global prices of petrochemical products have increased by about $28 in the last three months. The price of polyethylene has been hiked to Rs37,200 per tonne from Rs34,800 per tonne while that of polypropylene has been raised to Rs33,200 per tonne from Rs30,800 per tonne. (khr)
