LG INFORMATION PLANS PRODUCTION BASE IN INDIA

LG Information and Communication Ltd of South Korea plans to set up a manufacturing base in India for wireless in local loop (WLLCDMA) technology products. It is negotiating with domestic companies, including Escorts, for a joint venture to set up the manufacturing base. The company has already filed an application with the Foreign Investment Promotion Board for the venture and is in advanced stage of discussions with the Department of Telecommunication. (khr)

DOMINO'S PIZZA TO EXTEND INDIAN BASE
Article Abstract:
Domino's Pizza India Ltd, a franchisee of Domino's Pizza Inc of the US, plans to set up a 100 outlets in India by 2002 AD. It has so far invested about Rs25 crore and set up about 28 outlets in different Indian cities. Each additional outlet will now require an investment of about Rs70 lakh. The expansion programme is likely to be funded through a mixture of debt and equity. (khr)
