Luxury goods producer LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton S.A. has bolstered its worldwide champagne market share by providing agricultural assistance to growers free of charge, including testing for parasites and mildew. Champagne and wine revenue for LVMH in 2006 totaled $2.2 bil, a 19% market share by volume. LVMH's market share by volume for champagne in the US is 62%.

Diageo wins converts in U.S. but performs weakly in Europe

Diageo PLC of the United Kingdom posted a decrease of 23 percent in first half net profit to 895 million Pounds ($1.76 billion) from 1.17 billion Pounds last year.
