Le port d'Anvers : 120 millions de tonnes/
Article Abstract:
The Antwerp port might increase its traffic to 120 tons in 1998, on the basis of the excellence performance recorded during the first six months of the year. During this period, the Belgian port reported a traffic of 60.34mn tons, up 10.4% over the first half of 1997. Imported goods, up 17%, were the main contributor with 36mn tons, while the maritime exports went up by a modest 2% to 24mn tons as a result of a 17% decrease of exports towards Asia. On the other hand, the Asian imports reported in the Antwerp port were 1.2mn tons above compared to the first half of 1997, up 74%. The total traffic reported in the first half of 1998 included 17.8mn tons for the container traffic (up 11.3%) while the traffic of trucks onboard ships went up 11.6% to 3mn tons.

ALIMENTATION
Article Abstract:
Brewing brought BFr 130mn in turnover to Brasserie Dubuisson in 1997, with exports (France and the US mainly) accounting for BFr 14mn. The Belgian brewer also made BFr 150mn in turnover in distribution, which enabled it to total BFr 280mn in sales in 1997. To enable consumers to better identify its products, especially in foreign markets, the firm has revamped the packaging and logo. The company expects to produce 18,000 hl of beer in 1998, in addition to 500-600 hl of the newly presented lager version of its Bush Beer. The new beer has an alcohol content of 10.5% which puts it behind the conventional Bush Beer, the strongest beer in Belgium with 12%.
