Less is Moore
Article Abstract:
Converting a former sheep barn into a sculpture gallery at the Henry Moore Foundation involved taking a modest approach to design by architect firm Hawkins/Brown which was commissioned to undertake the work. The gallery is needed to house some of Henry Moore's works and the barn design needs to reflect Moore's minimalist approach, while not creating an eyesore in the local countryside. The 550,000 pounds sterling barn conversion will house works which are expected to be seen by up to 10,000 people each year.
