London architect gets good karma in Buddha tug of war
Article Abstract:
British architect AROS is taking its scheme to build a 152-meter-tall bronze Buddha statue in India to another state due to what it feels is incompetence in the local government regime and possible corruption. Neighboring regions in India would like the statue built in their areas due to the massive amount of tourism it is bound to draw. AROS now plans to build a hospital, monastery, nunnery, university, visitor center, education center and restaurants around the giant structure.
