Long-term forecasts for tourism industries: the case of Austria and Switzerland
Article Abstract:
The tourism industries of Austria and Switzerland are analyzed through a causal long-term econometric model. In the resulting scenario, Austria is predicted to gain a larger share of the tourist market relative to Switzerland although both countries are expected to experience a slowdown because of the shift in travel priorities of tourists, the rise in their exchange rates and the competition posed by EC member nations.
