MDC takes bite out of the Big Apple

MDC Communications, an advertising firm in Toronto, Canada, has purchased Margeotes/Fertitta + Partners, a consumer advertising agency with yearly billings of $165 million. The latter's clients include Benckiser Consumer Products, the Campbell Soup Co.'s Godiva Chocolatier, Coty Inc. and the McGraw-Hill Cos. MDC refused to reveal how much of Margeotes/Fertitta it has bought, although its business philosophy is to purchase majority ownership of communication firms while ensuring the people who manage the companies a substantial interest.

Marketing changes for airlines likely
Article Abstract:
The management of Air Canada is seriously planning to restructure the operations of Canadian Airlines Inc of Calgary, Alberta, if the merger of the two airlines is successful. The Montreal, Ontario airline will financially restructure Canadian along with modifications in its marketing strategy. In the meantime, Canadian continues with its short-term advertising efforts meant to generate business for the airline in the immediate future.
