MCL TO HIKE CAPACITY AT ALATHIYUR PLANT
Article Abstract:
Madras Cements Ltd has decided to raise clinker capacity at its cement unit at Alathiyur in Tamil Nadu from 2300 tonnes per day to 2500 tonnes per day. This will increase the plant's cement manufacturing capacity from 9 to 10 lakh tonnes per annum. The expansion, which includes modernisation of cooler, ID fans and pre-heater cyclones, involves an investment of Rs2 crore. (khr)

ICL TO SELL CERAMIC, PAPER DIVISIONS OF RAASI CEMENTS

India Cements Ltd of Chennai has planned to sell the ceramic and paper divisions of the recently acquired Raasi Cements in a bid to exit non-core operations. The two divisions have a combined turnover of Rs30 crore. The company has also decided to exit its real estate business, which has a turnover of Rs2 crore. (khr)
