The new prime minister of Denmark, Poul Nyrup Rasmussen, was selected when the seven members of the Radical Liberal Party joined the Social Democratic Party to form a coalition in the Folketing. The Conservative Party fell from power when the Radical Liberals withdrew their support.

The British way of resigning

British ministers resign for a variety of reasons including sex scandals, news leaks, political expediency and as in the latest episode of Michael Mates, backing a disgraced businessman. Since 1900, 106 ministers have resigned with the greatest number occurring between 1930-1939.
