Double-book if unions strike, but you risk losing flier miles
Article Abstract:
Travelers should be prepared for disruptions if pilots at Cathay Pacific Airways go on strike or even if they continue their "work to rule" action. Passengers should also be aware that replacement service (for example, airlines hired by Cathay to provide flights to fill in for their own planes) may not meet the standards of international travelers. Also, booking on a partner airline in the hopes of amassing frequent flier miles may not always work, depending on complex rules.
