Marketers give old drinks new punch
Article Abstract:
Yeo Hiap Seng Ltd. and Malaysia Dairies Ltd., both of Singapore, and Hong-Kong-based Vitasoy International Holdings Ltd. are Asian beverage marketers that aim to expand the market share of Asian fruit concoctions, herbal teas and soybean-based drinks. Although that segment of the beverage market still commands a small market share compared to the products of Coca-Cola and Pepsico Inc., Asian beverage firms are optimistic that the traditional-drinks segment offer a viable investment area when complimented with convenient packaging and intensive marketing.
