Massive world restrictions hit fishing: new UN marine impacts report

General Assembly passed a resolution asking for protection of the marine ecosystem. Measures taken in response to the resolution by fishing countries around the globe for effective management of fisheries and the impact of those methods on global fishing are presented based on a report from the United Nations.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed by South Africa, Namibia, Angola, Mozambique, and Tanzania to share the data produced by Vessel Monitoring System (VSM). This would enable the countries to restrict illegal and unauthorized fishing in their waters.
