Mediobanca warns of lower profit

Fiscal year net profit for Mediobanca S.p.A. increased 11% to reach $1.334 bil, due in part to advisory services and wholesale lending. Total revenue rose by 6.6% and income from the Italian merchant bank's blue-chip firm investment portfolio increased by 25%. The bank cited market uncertainty as the reason behind its forecast of a lower profit for the present fiscal year.
