Michael Laird, campaigner and inspired teacher
Article Abstract:
Michael Laird trained as an architect at Edinburgh College of Art, later becoming a teacher and a governor. He also compered a weekly television programme in the 1950s and campaigned for high design standards. He founded his practice in 1954 at the age of 26, producing exceptional modern buildings, such as the Children's Unit at the Astley Ainslie Hospital and the curtainwalled addition to Standard Life's Edinburgh headquarters. He was an active senior partner in the practice until he was forced to retired due to ill health in 1992.

Wolf enjoys dealing with life-and-death issues and he has great respect for cops, although he is against showing violence on television. Often Wolf uses real-life stories as the basis for a show, but he believes that television is there to entertain not teach morals.

Airports used to be functional but generally drab places. However, airports these days feature a host of facilities which serve to cater to every conceivable need a traveler might have, and then some. Airports offer services such as delicatessens, bookstores, fax services and others.
