Article Abstract:
Hampshire County Council are experiencing difficulty with central government requirements that they allow an extra 66,500 houses in the county by 2001. One partial solution is to build a new market town at Micheldever Station, containing 5,000 homes. There has been considerable local interest in the project, with 4,300 people holding 'Shire Certificates', which enable them to be informed of progress on the development.
