Mining and telecom offers imminent

Indonesian tin mining company Tambang Timah is set to list in London and Indonesia on Oct 19, 1995, while telecommunications concern Telkom will list in three locations in mid-Nov 1995. The country's privatisation programme will continue as initial public offerings (IPOs) are undertaken for toll-road operator Jasa Marga and state electricity concern PLN within the next two years. PLN is undertaking extensive restructuring in preparation for its IPO.

Indonesian plans for bank, power and steel

Indonesia's privatisation programme is set to be given a boost through initial public offerings planned by Bank Negara Indonesia, the country's largest bank, steel producer Krakatau Steel and electricity concern Perusahan Listrik Negara. This follows a disappointing outcome from the initial public offering of telecommunications concern Telkom in 1995. However, it is possible that the government will make a further issue of Telkom shares.

Tambang Timah's IPO scheduled for October
Article Abstract:
Tambang Timah of Indonesia, a tin mining company, is to sell shares with a simultaneous listing in Jakarta and London. The company claims to the the lowest cost producer in the world, controlling around 20% of global production. Telkom, the state-owned domestic telecommunications group is expected to make its listing in November, with a simultaneous offering in London, Jakarta, and New York.
