Models of wayfinding in emergency evacuations
Article Abstract:
Wayfinding models such as Random Choice, Modified Random Choice, Memorized Random Choice, Planned Path, Directional Choice, Frequently Used Path and the Shortest Path models explain how a person finds his way out from a building during emergency. A simulation program called EVACSIM, where critical events in a person's movement are closely monitored, is used to analyze wayfinding models. Application studies reveal that a Memorized Random Choice model performs better compared with other models since it shows a person's escape probability of 0.95 in only after 230 seconds.

Stability analysis and optimization of an inventory system with bounded orders
Article Abstract:
The upper bound is higher than the average demand when the distribution of the inventory level converges to its motionless distribution, given that the lower bound is smaller than the average demand. It was shown that the average inventory cost is a convex function of the objective inventory level. A simulation-based method is proposed to ascertain the optimal objective inventory.
