Money lost in space; there is no longer a good enough reason to build a manned space station
Article Abstract:
International plans to build a manned space station may not be worth the cost. Many of the experiments planned for the space station have been cancelled. Unmanned, less expensive missions may be an alternative. The remaining experiments for the space station may not be of much value.

Paradox lost: those elusive productivity gains
Article Abstract:
There has been a huge increase in spending on information technology, ranging from 7% in 1970 to 40% in 1996, yet the labor-productivity growth during that period of time has been miniscule. The figures may be misleading, but there is real concern for the future of jobs.
