More pain ahead
Article Abstract:
The recent terrorist attacks on the US may not have a huge economic impact in themselves, but they will further weaken an already ailing world economy. Central banks have already cut interest rates, and governments must review fiscal policy as well as look at aid for sectors hit by the terrorism.

The Sep 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the US not only destroyed the World Trade Centre but may also have heightened the risk of a global economic collapse. US consumer spending is likely to fall, pulling the US and much of the rest of the world into recession.
