Multiple level production planning in rolling horizon assembly environments
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to analyze the use of multiple level planning heuristics to determine how rolling horizon results correlate with fixed horizon results in a deterministic demand atmosphere. The weighted order cycle was introduced as a single expression of cost structure within a multiple item bill of materials. Results indicated a number of findings that can assist inventory planners. These include cost schedules, multiple level cost modification techniques and production planning.

The new challenges of management in a wired world
Article Abstract:
The 'Theory of Complexity' presents new approaches to problems related decision support systems. The theory, which was formulated by the Santa Fe Institute, entails a paradigm that try to resolve emergent properties or even chaotic scenarios brought about by decision support systems' non linear dynamics. It works by illustrating the evolution of dynamic systems involving modern organizations' high rhythm of interactions.
