NIA FLOATS DESIGNER HEALTH SCHEMES
Article Abstract:
The New India Assurance (NIA) has launched a range of designer health insurance schemes targeted at specialised segments. Its Long-Term Retirement Benefit Scheme is targeted at individuals who are about to retire from the service and those who have retired. The scheme will have no age restriction. Under the scheme, a retiring/retired person can get a Rs1 lakh cover jointly with his spouse for a one-time premium of Rs30,951. Its Health Quarters Plan has been evolved to benefit the NRIs, whose parents will be looked after in their absence. Under this scheme, the beneficiaries will be given identity cards and they will be entitled for treatment at 350 hospitals with which NIA is linked. It has also launched the Superannuation VRS Plan for companies introducing voluntary retirement schemes. For the rural segment, NIA has launched a group cover policy. Under this policy, the entire family can get an insurance cover of Rs10,000 for an annual premium of Rs150. (gs)
