NYKREDIT FRAVALGER DANSK FORSIKRING
Article Abstract:
Nykredit, the Danish mortgage lending institute, is likely to start co-operating with the Swedish insurance company Trygg-Hansa, the paper writes. The institute is planning to enter the insurance market for households in co-operation with an insurance company, and Danish insurance companies are considered being too expensive and not willing to compete on their own market. Nykredit's plans include offering household insurance products through a sub-contractor. Trygg-Hansa is planning to expand its Nordic activities. At present, its premium revenues in Denmark total about DKr 250mn (USD 37mn) a year, DKr 150mn of which is attributed to sales to households.

DANSK OMU-MEDLEMSKAB I 2002
Article Abstract:
Denmark is likely to become a member of the EMU in 2002-2003, according to Stanley Crossick, leader of the think-tank European Policy Centre in Brussels. He says the Danish Government will probably wait and see the development of the EMU and the British decision about a membership, which is likely to be taken in 2001-2002. Peter Ludlow, leader of the think-tank Centre for European Policy Studies, expects that Danish politicians gradually will be able to convince the Danes of the advantages. So far, Denmark has benefitted from the EU membership, he says.
