Nemak decides for Plzen and offers jobs
Article Abstract:
Nemak (Mexico), manufacturer of aluminium components for the automotive industry, will build a plant in Plzen, the Czech Republic. The plant will produce aluminium internal combustion engine heads and blocks. The investment costs on the construction will be CEK 1.2 bil during the first stage. The finances will be invested during the next three years. The firm should offer 200-500 direct jobs in the period. During the next period, the investment can increase in dependence on contracts. The firm plans to invest another CEK 4 bil and to set up nearly 1,360 direct and 1,400-2,800 indirect jobs. It should set up a total of 2,700-4,100 jobs in Plzen. Nemak has an 80% stake held by the industrial group Alfa (Mexico) and a 20% stake owned by Ford Motors Company.

Shaped car carpets from Bor

Ideal Automotive CZ (IACZ) (Bor, Czech Republic), car interior equipment manufacturer, started pilot operation in Jun 2000. The firm had started the construction of a new production hall with an area of 16,000 sq mt in Aug 1999. The hall was built by the construction firm Ekos (Czech Republic) under the support of Ideal V.V. (Belgium). IACZ will make products mainly for the car company Skoda Auto (SA) (Mlada Boleslav, Czech Republic). Its shaped carpets are intended for SA's new car type Fabia Combi. Its further products are boot filling for Octavia Combi cars. Besides, IACZ will manufacture for Volkswagen, Opel and further car companies.

Nemak chooses Plzen
Article Abstract:
Nemak (Mexico), car component manufacturer, will build a new plant in the industrial zone in Plzen-Borska Pole, the Czech Republic. The plant, which will produce car engine aluminium heads, is Nemak's first investment in Europe. The investment costs on the construction should amount to 130 mil USD. The first stage of the construction, which will be started in the second quarter of 2001, will cost about 30 mil USD and will ensure 200 direct jobs and 400 indirect jobs. The firm plans to invest another 100 mil Kc during the next five years. The investments will ensure nearly 1,000 direct jobs at the new plant.
